Wind Energy Benefits

Local
Wind energy can be produced locally which promotes energy independence from foreign or distant sources. It supports agriculture (without interfering with it) and the economy of the local community while also contributing to the energy needs.
Affordable
With an increase in wind technology, the price of wind power has been decreasing (to about 2.5-5 cents per kWh). Wind energy also excludes the costs associated with transportation and mining of other kinds of fuels.
Clean
Wind turbines do not produce particulate emissions so they do not contribute to air or water pollution. The actual turbines also have a very small “footprint” so they have little impact on the areas around them.
Abundant
Wind is a natural resource that is inexhaustible and free. This can stabilize the cost and reduces variation in availability.
